Starting with a kickoff session, we aligned the goals of the founders. They believe that representation matters and seek to disrupt homogeneity in the workplace. They not only planned to ‘talk the talk’, but they intended to ‘walk the walk,’ as well. Their mission internally was to hire 75% women and a minimum 51% people of color. These forward-thinking ideals needed to be represented in the logo. Collectively, we determined that the logo had to be clean and convey that change was on the horizon for companies looking to make positive change across their organizations. Nova was reaching for the stars in various aspects, including the growth they wanted to achieve and the impact they wanted to make, so it was our job to convey that visually.
Brim was hired to design a logo for The Nova Collective, a Chicago-based DEI consulting firm to redefine “business as usual” and evolve cultures across all categories.

The resulting logo features stylized arrows, a circle, and a custom typeface which features sharp, angled edges and a futuristic aesthetic. Its simplicity has allowed it to inspire an organic expansion of the visual brand identity across several touchpoints. Nova is now an established DEI firm for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500s around the country.
